Interview Experience in Houston, TX
Hey everybody,
I have been a silent reader for almost a year now and I can finally post about my interview experience.
DACA married to USC
Married:8/19/16
PD: 12/15/16
Bio: 1/8/17
Interview:9/11/18 @ 10:15am

I had DACA so I did not apply for ead as soon as i submitted the application but my daca expired on 11/17 so I submitted ead 8/17 and received it on 1/18. Everything went silent after that. My husband and I filed a few SR in May but never got a response. Finally on 8/7/18 my status changed to interview has been scheduled. On 8/13 I received the notice in the mail so I went ahead and started getting everything ready then. I redid my medicals since it had been more than a year from the previous ones. I made copies of all the documents my husband and I had together, like joint tax returns, 2 years worth of bank statements, we had an affidavit of residence made by my parents because we have been living with them since before we got married. We also had around 200 pictures of events together ever since we have met. Also provided car insurance papers, since we work at the same place we did not have joint medical insurance or anything like that.

We get to the interview date and we waited for about 40 mins after our scheduled appt at 10:15am to get called in. The officer was very nice from the beginning she swore us in and then asked if there was anything we wanted to add to our file, i pulled out 2 years of joint tax returns, 2 years of bank statements, our affidavit and pictures and she said she only wanted tax returns for 2017 and only 1 month of bank statements for last year and 1 for this year and took our affidavit of residence as well. she did not want any of our pictures and then she went to ask yes/no questions. and only asked me where and when my husband was born. He asked my husband where and when i was born. Asked for out licences and asked if she could make copies we said yes, asked for both birth certificates and marriage certificate as well. Then asked me my last date of entry, verified our signatures and asked him my phone number and asked me his phone number. She went to ask why we live with my parents but she answered her own question and said "just because right" and we agreed and told her my parents have a very big house so we just decided to stay with them for now. She asked if we had kids and i said no, i am barely 23 and still going to school. then she went ahead and said she needed to check some things one last time and check my medicals, that if everything was ok i will receive something in the mail within 7-10 days and gave me the interview paper saying my case is being held for review. Our interview literally took like 15 mins, we went in at 11 and by 11:15 we were out. I am a bit nervous about that and so far i have not had any status updates online :(

When i submitted everything in 2016, we submitted pictures and almost a year worth of bank statments also our car insurances were already joined at that time so idk if she thought that was enough and thats why she didnt accept any more of the evidences we brought to the interview. I will not be calm until i have approval and gc in hand. only then will i feel better about this process.
