I really don't know what to do and could use any advice. Here is a short timeline:
March 2017 - got married while in the US.
May 2017 - applied for everything, BUT I left the country before receiving the travel document.
August 2017 - Came back to the US to have the biometrics appointment on a B1 visa. Hired lawyers, who said my application will be rejected because I left the country so I should file another one.
Feb 2018 - Filed another application through lawyers (i485, i131, i765), and cancelled the old ones (all except the i130).
March 2018 - Had another biometrics appointment.
August 2018 - Filled service request to USCIS for the i765 and i131.
September 2018 - Filed another service request.
My lawyers say that there is nothing that I can do but keep sending service requests, that the USCIS doesn't have to respond to in any way. They say that my case is abnormal as it's way past the due date, but they have no other insight. What worries me a lot is that even before cancelling the old application, there was a period of 7+ months when I didn't receive the EAD. Now it has been 7+ months again. I have work secured here, but the lawyers say I can't work legally in the US in any way. Is there ANYTHING that I can do or ANY way that I can work here without it damaging my chances?
