I had a lawyer file the I-130, I-131, I-765, and I-485 jointly on my behalf. Honestly my lawyer is a genius and I wouldn't have had the success without him. I was going to do it myself but I had a few risk factors surrounding my case so to be safe I hired a lawyer to help me mitigate those areas. If you are in need of a lawyer or advice, I definitely recommend reaching out to Adrian Pandev at Pandev Law.....the dude is a GENIUS and he really knows his stuff.
The interview -
The interview was fairly simple. My spouse arrived at 12pm and met with our lawyer to organize documents and prepare. We entered at 12:30 and checked in for our 12:45 interview. We waited just over and hour and were called back around 1:50 P.M. We raised our hands and swore to tell the truth.
From there the officer asked for our IDs, my spouse and I both provided passports and drivers license, our lawyer used his license and bar card. It was a conversation from that point. The officer went over the information on the forms....names, address, date and place of birth. The officer then asked the story of how we met.
I had an incident in college where I was cited but couldn't find the documents. This is where my lawyer came in and did his background work. The officer was able to clear that and give me the approval on the spot. My status updated immediately to your card is being produced. I'll be happy to answer questions but my advice, if you can afford it reach out to a lawyer and save yourself lots of time and headache (the benefits definitely outweighed the cost for me).
