AOS Interview
Hi everyone, just want to share my interview experience with you.
I had my interview today. It was an okay experience. It wasnt as hard or scary as I thought it would be.But i can say it definitely took longer than what I expected.I think we were there for like 40-45 minutes.
The IO was a nice lady.Polite but kind of strict at the same time.I guess I can say she was "professional".
She started with the yes-no questions and then asked me about my husband's full name, DOB and where, his parents' full name, if / when I met them, how I met my husband, when and where. And then she asked the same exact questions to my husband like my full name, DOB and where, my parents' name, if he met them and how etc. She asked me who attended to our wedding party, if my husband has a big or small family, if i met his siblings, where he works at and what position, where he lived when we met and before we met, when did i move in with him, how did he propose, where & when, how long did we date before getting married, where did we get married, whats our current address and who lives there.Me and my husband have a car together so she asked us how much was the car and what did i do during the time I wasnt allowed to drive ( I couldnt renew my licence as I received my EAD only 2 weeks ago), she kept 13 photos from our photo album, kept our bank statements for our joint account also she kept our house lease from last year and this year.We gave her our gym membership paper as well but she didnt keep that one.She also asked us if we have seperate bank accounts and we said yes. Then she asked us how we were paying the rent and bills when I was not working. She asked what we did last christmas and what religious holidays we celebrate together.
At the end she gave us a paper explaining how to remove conditions at the end of 2 years and also another paper that says case is under review. After I came home today ( around 6 hours later) I checked it online and it says new card is being produced ( i-485) but i-130 says case is under review. So i am not really sure what that means but I am glad I am done with the interview process. If your marriage is bona fide, there is nothing to be scared of.Just be truthful to the officer and answer the questions confidently.Good luck to everyone who is waiting for their papers!
