April Filer
Married to USC
NBC (don't know which field office)

4/4 - Priority date (I-765, I-130, I-131, I-485, and medical received)
4/12 - "We accepted the fingerprint fee for your I-485"
5/9 - "We completed review of your fingerprints"

7/31 - Quit my job on H1B visa anticipating that EAD was just around the corner. Risky move and would not recommend it but leaving my job was outside my control. Also note that I was already 1 year into an employment based green card before I quit my job.

9/10 - Filled a change of address form online
9/18 - "Your request to change your address was assigned to an officer"
9/19 - "We sent a response to your change of address"
9/19 - "Your request to change your address was completed"

9/20 - Received a job offer, set a start date of 10/15 and called USCIS right away to request my case be expedited. Kind lady that I got on the phone agreed to file an expedite for the I-765 (I only spoke to one person so can't say if she was tier 1 or tier 2 - I read on this forum of people needing to get to a tier 2 agent to expedite)

9/20 - I-485 status changed to "case ready to be scheduled for an interview"

10/1 - By this time I had started to panic after hearing nothing from USCIS so I called again. The agent on the phone mentioned that an officer was still reviewing the case. I also decided to filed an SR online as the case was already outside the normal processing time

10/3 - Decided that it would not hurt to reach out to my congressman (I had initially thought that this would be a waste of time given that I had an offer letter as evidence to support the expedite request). My wife made the call (given that she was the USC, my thought was that her calling would get a more favorable response)

10/4 - Email sent with signed privacy release, letter explaining the situation, employment offer letter and USCIS confirmation email for I-765 receipt (could not locate the I-797 notice)

10/5 - Status changed to "Case was Approved"
10/5 - "We ordered your new card"

Here is my general conclusion from this. I think that involvement of the Senator's office likely played an important in getting the I-765 approved, however it is impossible to say for sure. My wife called to thank them. For some reason, the SR request never got assigned to an officer and I never received an RFE for the expedite request.
