I have been reading for a while on this forum and you guys really kept my spirit up, so Thank you!
My situation is I have a job and had to take an unpaid absence at work due to my OPT expiring at the end of July. It would have been exactly 3 months out of work at the end of this week so I decided to take some actions last week. I contacted two senators' office and one congressman. One senator's staff was avoiding me (?!). The congressman's staff told me there is nothing he can do. And God bless me, the other senator's office was kind enough to even take an action with my case without knowing how USCIS would react. I can't thank her enough just for even looking at my case.
Here is my timeline
April 19, 2018 - USCIS Received my application( F1 Status, c(9) category - NBC)
April 23, 2018 - Withdrawal Money
May 23, 2018 - Fingerprint completed
June 18, 2018 - SR was raised and was denied
*waiting for the days to fly by and spending quality time with my husband and my doggy*
October 9, 2018 - contacted 1 congressman and 2 senators
October 10, 2018- 1 senator replied that she has contacted USCIS
October 11, 2018 - APPROVED!
October 15, 2018 - Approval notice in the mail. Online " We have mailed your card"
Still waiting for the physical card to arrive but this is more than wonderful.
I would encourage everyone to be proactive and be patient. Good luck!
