L1A stamping (L1A extension) in Toronto (US Resident)
Hi, I would like to share my experience with L1A blanket visa stamping in Toronto in chronological order.
09/26 - Traveled from US to Toronto.
09/27 - Appointment date. Visited consulate 15 mins before the appointment and we (myself, spouse and 3 years old daughter) were let in on-time. I took care of keeping all electronic items in the hotel, but somehow my wife had "apple watch". We were asked to put it in the storage locker (private store) near by and came back to the consulate.
After organizing the documents and paid the required checks, we waited in the queue for the interview. Below questions were asked.
1. What is your designation ?
2. You came from US ? where in US ?
3. How long you were in US ? Were you outside US for a year ? The officer was trying to understand how I am eligible for L1A category visa depending on the duration that I spent outside. I worked for one year in India and one year in London, so I provided those details.
4. How many reportees do you have ?
5. What is your salary ?
To my spouse
1. How long have you married ?
2. Is this little girl born in India ?
Finally, he mentioned you visa is approved and you will receive your passport in 4 to 5 business days.
09/28 :- The status of the passport tracking changed to "Issued" from "administrative processing".
09/29 & 09/30 - Week ends
10/2 - Got the tracking number from the consulate
10/3 - Shipped to the post office
10/4 - Got an email from post office to collect the passport and I came back to US on the same day.
