After 6 months EAD approved
Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my timeline for people who are in the same situation or are going to be in this situation. After 6 months, I finally have my card being produced.

I received an RFIE ( initial ) after 4,5 months of filling so very late in the process.

I tried to expedite 2 times but dit not work because of the RFIE. And try to reach 2 senators but no help!

Filling I-765, i-131 , i-485 , AOS from k1 visa
PD 02 May 2018
Fingerprint appointment : 06/04/18
Fingerprint review : 06/25/18
RFIE : 09/19/18
RFIE received in mail : 09/22/18
Response to RFIE received by USCIS : 09/27/18
Case is ready to be schedule an interview : 10/15/18
Interview scheduled for AOS : 10/22/18
Interview notice for AOS received by mail: 10/26/18
New car being produced EAD : 10/29/18
And now I am waiting to have my GC by the end of November.

I just want to clarify some points :

1- when you receive an RFIE 4 months or so after filing don’t panick, it will NOT reset your clock!! I was afraid because I read that somewhere. For me it just took an extra month and everything went smoothly.

2. When USCIS received your response to RFIE they have 60 days to make a decision and issued your EAD Generally it took 1 month. Again this 60 days notice is only if you received an RFIE late in the process.

3. Don’t try to expedite when you have an RFiE pending it will not get through. Just wait at least an update on your I-485 : case is ready to be scheduled.

I can finally breathe again and look for job thanks my guardian angel 🙌🏽🙏🏽

This forum helped me a lot and I wanted to say keep sharing your timeline even if you got your card, I kept hope based on your experiences, sothank you !

I know how frustrating and overwhelming this proceeds is , so best of luck to everyone!

If you have questions don’t hesitate I’ll be happy to help.
