LA Field Office
Hey everyone,
This forum has been a great resource through this entire process. My case hasn’t been the most straight forward (won’t bother everyone with the details) but I’m near the home stretch.

I had my interview on Nov 7, 2018 in Los Angeles at 12:15pm. The waiting room was really full and there was a person complaining he had been waiting for his scheduled interview for over 2 hours. For some reason I waited about 15 minutes then got called in for about a 15minute interview. The I-130 had already been approved so the officer only asked a few questions off the form. The officer said he had reviewed my file before calling me in and that it would be really short. I guess due to the nature of my case, he asked if we had documents for him. Handed an updated medical exam and some additional documents that had previously been requested. He scanned everything in and then went on to say he had everything he needed but just needed to ask for guidance on one thing. He handed us that dreaded letter saying they’ll contact me within 30-120 days. We also gave him a letter from my employer indicating I needed to travel internationally in a couple of weeks and the officer said they’ll take it into consideration. My attorney said she believes it will be resolved quickly but having seen how things gone for me, I’m not the most optimistic person.

There’s plenty of posts about how people got this same letter and a couple of days later got an approval. I’ve been impulsively checking every 30 minute to see if there’s an update (although I’m only fooling myself since I know I’ll receive a text when there’s an update) and it’s driving me insane. With Veteran’s day coming up tomorrow it only makes matters worst for me since I assume they won’t be working. What is the longest people have had to wait after there interview to receive green card (No, AP was not an option for me)? Looking for the long end of the spectrum.

Thanks!
