Houston GC Interview
I am posting about a GC interview in the Houston Field Office held on 11/09/18.
Our PD was April 17, 2017. The interview was scheduled at 2:20 PM, but we arrived super early like at 1 PM, but we were told to wait until 1:40 PM to officially check in. Advise plan to arrive no earlier than 30 mins before schedule interview.
We got called into a closed door office at about 4:00 PM ( Yes very late). Our office was friendly and welcoming but he looked very tired. He asked for all of the documents that were requested for in the Appointment Letter. We had three folders, one with all originals, one with copies, and one with all the evidence of bona-fide marriage. Interview was pretty much going over every single question on the forms that were originally submitted ( I-130. etc) NO questions about how we met or anything, but we have been married for almost 3 years and have cars and a house together and I guess he could tell we were for real. Super easy interview, super nice agent who did not make us feel nervous at all. My advice is just to be over prepared and tell the truth.
We did NOT get a written on the spot approval, but the office verbally told us my husband had been approved. He gave us a slip of paper telling us that no more information was needed to reach a decision. The office was about to close, it was 5:00 PM on a Friday. He told us to check on line later in the evening or at the most by Saturday night. My husband checked on-line before midnight and he had been APPROVED. We are so happy! Best of luck for all who are still waiting.
