This was my first H1B interview. I got approved for H1B at my first attempt and was for F1 to H1. The VO appeared to be very strict. He rejected 3 visas before me. One F1 and other two tourist visas.
Me: Good Morning
VO: No Reply
VO: Are you going to the same employer who has filed petition for you?
Me: Yes
VO: Hand me over your I-797.
Me: Handed over the documents.
VO: What you do?
Me: I am a Software Engineer. **Wanted to say more but he cut in between**
VO: What's your Annual Salary?
Me: YYYY per annum
VO: Did you do master's from US?
Me: Yes
VO: Which year did you graduated?
Me: YYYY
VO: What were you doing in your OPT?
Me: I was looking for opportunities and organizations which fits my talents best. ** I worked for another employer for a very short period of time in my OPT. It just skipped from my mind at that time. Although I have mentioned the name of the employer in my DS-160 and also is updated in my USCIS records **.
VO: Okay I am keeping your passport and at this point of time we require more Administrative Processing which should be cleared in 2-3 business days or weeks, not sure what he said. And there was no slip provided to me.
Me: Thank you.
Its been 6 working days since then because 22 and 23 November was holiday for US Embassy at Delhi. When can I expect a decision and is there a chance of refusal in this case or is there anyone else in the same boat. Any help or information is appreciated. I have to cancel my return tickets because of this.
