H1B and H4 experience - Mumbai (approved)
29th Nov - VAC appointment (Fingerprinting)
30th Nov - Interview

Interview details-
Appointment was at 9:15 in the morning. We were allowed to enter around 8:40. Because of the long line inside already, we reached the interview window around 10:15 am.

Conversation:
Me - Good morning!
VO - Very good morning! Please pass passports and i-797.
Me - Sure, passed.
VO - So, what is your position and role with company xxx?
Me - Explained in brief (in two sentences).
VO - What is your annual salary per year?
Me - Mentioned.
VO - Turned to my wife, have you had H4 before?
My wife - Answered.
VO - When did you get married?
My wife - Mentioned.
VO - How many kids do you have?
My wife - One son, he is US citizen (We did not take our son along).
VO - Turned back to me, are you aware of your rights while on H1B?
Me - Yes.
VO - Grabbed our passports and told your visa is approved! Your passports should be ready in 2 business days.
Both of us - Thank you very much and have a great day ahead.
VO - Thank you, you too!

Note - Interview lasted hardly 3 minutes for both of us. VO was very polite and it seemed like a very casual conversation.

Tip - If you have good paperwork and confidence in your responses, it should be a smooth process.

Not a single document was asked except standard i-797.

Further events-
30th Nov itself - wife’s passport ready to pick up first.
1st and 2nd Dec - weekend.
3rd Dec - My passport ready to pick up.

4th Dec - Both passports collected with appropriate visa stamps.

Good luck!!
