Green card interview timeline
Firstly, I'd like to thank the members of this forum for their great help! I'm an i485 filer based on marriage to USC from Houston, TX
Please find my timeline below and feel free to ask any questions.
May 2017: Applied for i485, i765
August 2017: Received EAD and AP
November 2018: Received interview notice
July 2018: Applied for renewal EAD and AP (still pending)
December 2018: Interviewed at Houston office
Officer interviewed us separately. Asked questions regarding where we live, jobs, previous marriage and so on.
He said he needs to review the case but since we had a confirmed travel booking and visa and a pending AP (since 5.5 months), on special request the senior officer stamped a temporary i551 on my passport!
I'd like to stress that if you genuinely love your partner and know them well, you have nothing to worry about. Please make sure all your documents are complete as per the checklist
