Green card marriage based. Married to a permanent Resident.
Married June 2016
I-130 Approved. PD August 2016
Filed for Adjustment of Status June 2018. Received June 2018
Bio-metrics app July 2018
Husband moved to CA in July
Interview notice October 2018
Rescheduled because my husband could not make it.
New Interview date November 2018 -In Boston ( I went with my lawyer)
EAD card received December 2018
The Interview lasted for over an hour. Thorough questions about our lives together asked and we gave the same answers for most of them. Gave different answers for two questions. When the interview was about ending, IO asked to see my phone, I showed him. He asked me to go to my Whatsapp and show messages between my husband and I - I was hesitant but he promised to want to check dates of conversations. I looked from approval from my lawyer and he said it was okay. I showed the IO my whatsapp and he asked me to scroll through; i did. He then said he noticed a message between my husband and I talking about a separate apartment. Again, I was confused as he promised to not read messages but only look at dates. I told him what that was about and he said- up until that moment everything checked out but he was now only interested in the conversation about the apartment - Again I explained and he took me out and called my husband back in to verify. He asked my husband to show his whatsapp messages and saw the conversation was between us. At the end, he didn't say anything to my lawyer. My lawyer asked if we should wait for an RFE and he just nodded.
My case status has since been updated to show "Interview was completed and must be reviewed". No new updates. Not sure what to expect. Has anyone had similar experiences?
