EAD expedite approved!
Hi everyone,
Today I received great news, my EAD card is been produced! Just 1 day before my current one expires. I feel very lucky that my request was received, assigned, processed, and approved in 7 business days and wanted to share my experience with you!
I filed my I-485 along with I-765 and 131 on 8/30/18. My lawyers requested expedite processing on 12/21 (Friday before the 2 day Christmas holiday break) because my current EAD filed under a completely different category is expiring on 1/5/19 (for some really long to explain reason I have to get a completely new one rather than renewing the current one). We did not hear from an officer, however the check status online website stated that on 12/27 my case was assigned to an officer for review and that they have contacted us with further steps. Neither my lawyer nor I received any emails/correspondence and on 12/28 my lawyer called USCIS to get more info. She got the address where to send all the supporting documentation and went ahead and faxed everything. She also contacted my senator’s office.
Yesterday at 3:00 pm I got an email from my Senator’s office. They had contacted USCIS on my behalf and were notified that they have received all my documentation and considered that I met the criteria to expedite my process. We were told that they will get my paperwork from the file room and that they will assign it to an officer for review. We were told that a decision was going to be made within 15 days.
Today at 10:30 am I checked my case status and it had changed to card is been produced. Today I also received the notification via email letting me know that my lawyer had requested to expedite my case on 12/21 and the address where all supporting documentation should be sent, this correspondence was dated 12/31/2018 and was received today!!!
In conclusion, contact your Senators! They do care and are VERY HELPFUL! I am sure my senator’s office is the reason WHY my paperwork was reviewed in record time! And of course the amazing job of my lawyer :)
Now I just need to wait for the card to arrive in the mail....fingers crossed it doesn't take too long!
