How will the USCIS find out about a previous marriage? My friend got married to a girl for a couple of months some 15 years ago. The marriage wasn't registered so they don't have a certificate or a marriage licence, it was a ceremony by just the couple at a church with a priest. And it was in a different country. He came to the US 7 years ago on a Work Visa. Now he is planning to marry his girlfriend here in the US. So should he apply as single or as a divorcee? Just curious bcoz he wasnt properly wedded anyways, and there is no proof of his marriage. He is just a little confused. Will the USCIS come to know about his previous status by any forms he filled previously? Any advices are welcomed and appreciated...
