AP travel experience: do not worry
I wanted to share my experience of using advance parole recently. It was very smooth and I had no problems at all.

I travel a lot for work and this was my first trip where I entered US on the advance parole. No problem at the check in counter (Accra airport), and I could check in with my passport and the AP card. I was connecting through Istanbul airport where you have to go through an extra check for US bound flight, they again looked at the AP card, seemed a bit confused but let me through without any issue.

At my port of entry at JFK, no questions asked. The first officer said everything is fine and I need to go to secondary inspection. Waited 5 minutes there and the my name was called and I got my passport and AP card back with a PAROLE stamp on my passport, with AOS written with the officers signature. No questions at all.

I’m traveling abroad a few times next few months and my attorney said it’s fine and I should not worry about the frequency of traveling or the duration of how long I’m outside; as long as the AP card is valid on the date of entry.

Hopefully this helps folks who’re considering traveling on AP and wanted to hear a recent experience.

Background: I am adjusting status based on marriage to USC. Before the AOS, been in the US on and off on various visa types and always maintained status.
