I485 & EAD Accidental Abandonment
We filed I-485 and I-130 for my spouse in November 2017. He got EAD & AP approval on 1/28/18. We were still waiting on the green card interviews therefore he had to file for renewal of EAD/AP and got renewal receipt on 10/11/18.
The AP expired 1/15/19 (EAD is still intact with just the receipt) and he left the country for a few days not realizing that he couldn't travel without the renewed card. He is now not allowed back in and we have technically abandoned I-485.
Has this happened to anyone? Has anyone abandoned their I-485 by leaving the country? Did you still receive the EAD/AP renewal or did you get a denial letter instead?
