Green Card Experience & Timeline
Hi everyone! I've been reading this forum for a while, and it helped me through my hard times, so I decided to share my experience as well.

Background: green card marriage, I came here with F1 visa and met my husband during college.

Here is my green card timeline:

We got married on July 12th 2018
PD: July 23rd 2018
Biometrics: August
EAD/AP in hand: December 23rd 2018
Interview Notice: December 23rd 2019 for January 23rd 2019, 12:45 pm
Card in Production: January 25th 2019

I am hoping to get the GC soon....

Interview experience:
We arrived around 12:10 pm. We checked in, and we they called our name right away (around 12:15 pm ish). We're so glad we came early!

The whole experience was positive. We started with Oath. The IO checked our application and went over our address. A lot of yes no question. He asked me when was the last time I came to the US, etc. He asked for my medical document (I didn't submit the document with the initial PD). Then, he went over our relationship story. He asked where did we meet, where did we go for our first date and when (we didn't remember the exact date but we told him in early 2016), why did we get married at the date we did (we told him mostly it worked best for our family), who cooks, he asked if we had any pet, etc. we brought all the supporting documents: apt lease, power bills, retirement acc, photo albums, our first facebook chat, trips, etc. We got approved on the spot.

Suggestions:
- Hire a lawyer if you can! Our attorney was really great. He was there for us for every step of the way.
- Be prepared. Bring everything you have.
- Don't be nervous. If your marriage is real, there's nothing to be nervous about. Be conversational and tell your story. Instead of answering in one word, we told the IO our story. When the IO asked where did we meet we told him the entire story "we met in class then bla bla bla." He asked us a lot of follow up questions. There was a part that we don't remember, and we told him that we didn't remember.
