Here's a little background to my case:

I did my Master's at a reputed University and joined an Indian IT company giant in 2014. I was working as a contractor at different vendor sites. I got my H1B approved in 2015 and I hadn't gone for stamping since.
I now work as a FTE with an American company and I'm working for them since mid 2017.

I had my fingerprinting appointment on Dec 27,2018.
Consular Interview @ Chennai on Dec 28, 2018.

My appointment was at 845am but by the time I was called by the VO it was 11:00am. In the 2 hour period I was there, there were many rejections and most H1B candidates were given the Blue/Pink slip. Most candidates spent an avg of 5min with the VO. Needless to say I was very nervous.

VO: Good Morning, please give me your passports.
Me: A very Good morning.! Here are my passports.

VO: Which company do you work for?
Me: YYYY

VO: Where are you located?
Me: YYYY

What's you salary?
Me: YYYY

VO: Looks like you have done your Master's in US.
Me: Yeah.

VO: Which school did you go to?
Me: YYYY

VO: Your visa is approved. Enjoy your stay in the US.
Me: Thank you so much.

I came back and checked the Visa status online
Dec 28: Admin Processing.
Dec 31: Issued.
Jan 2: Passport was ready for pickup.
