The interview itself was very straightforward. The DHS officer actually said to us that he knew our marriage was genuine beforehand simply because when I first applied for a B2 tourist visa at the US Embassy in my home country (Trinidad and Tobago) I had told that officer that I wished to go to the US to visit my gf (now wife) who was in school at that time. It was really surprising that the officer even noted that but hey I'm not complaining it worked out perfectly!

Questions the officer asked:
1. Where did we honeymoon
2. Did we have two marriages (one was civil, one was a convalidation ceremony)
3. How many people attended each wedding
4. Why did we move to New Jersey

Honestly that's it! Beyond the necessary yes/no part from the I-485 application. We did not have loads of extra evidence but I'd like to think what we had was crucial and sufficient - photos, gift receipts, financial info (bank statements, credit cards in both our names etc), the lease to our new place....the only thing he took was the lease and a photocopy of our marriage certificate. So then he said he'd recommend us for approval and that was it! God is great!

Hopefully any filers out there will read this and be encouraged, just as this forum has done for me :)
