Adjustment of Status - I-485

About a week ago I requested for my ead renewal to be expedited by calling the customer # and dialing 1, 1, 2, 2 followed by the # key. Immediately I got a rep. I told her I had a pending ead renewal application and that it’s been exactly 90 days and still no decision and that I would like to expedite it. I explained to her that my employer has been asking me for the renewed ead and that I was afraid I might lose my job if I don’t bring it to my employer soon and that also my dL would expire in like a week and if I don’t have the renewed ead I wouldn’t be able to drive to work. She gave me all the options and then told her my circumstance was under the emergency category. She then told me I should hear back from them in 5 days and that if I don’t then it means my request was denied. I later realized I mischaracterized my category. In exactly 5 days I got a mail from uscis requesting for evidence and to fax the evidence over to them. Immediately, I put together a copy of my employment letter, copies of my credit card debts, copy of my dL and wrote a letter explaining my circumstance and also noted I mischaracterized my category and corrected it and then faxed all documents to them. Three days later my case was updated to new card has been ordered and is being produced.
My apologies for the detailed explanation. I just want others who want to go through the same process to have the info on what they need to do exactly.
