Interview Complete - Los Angeles Office
Dear All,

First of all I would like to thank everyone in here. Reading all your experiences and thoughts for the past 2 years has been a major source of strength for me and my husband. Let me share with you my GC interview experience today!

Married to Citizen
Processed by: National Benefits Center
Office: Los Angeles - Federal Building
Priority Date: Feb 20, 2018

We were scheduled for today at 10AM but we were at the building from 8:30AM trying to go through some more notes and information with our lawyer. By 9:50 AM we went to our floor and gave the interview notice at the window then we waited for our name to be called.

Around 10:40 AM we were called in by the officer. He let us in and did the oath before we sat down. First thing he asked for are ID's, I was going through my bag and put out the passport first whilst looking for my wallet with my driver's license and my husband's wallet in my bag. Then he said that okay my husband's passport will suffice but he needs my driver's license as well and EAD and SS card. I gave all to him. Then he took my photo and index fingers.

After this he said that our case is pretty straightforward ---- JUST A SIDE STORY--- honestly I didn't think it was because (1) my husband lives in San Diego on weekdays in the Navy, I'm in LA; (2) his Driver's license is still in his old address though we did the change of address online, (3) and he's not in the rent agreement because the landlady said they have to increase rent to add him, although she's aware that he lives there.

After this he said that our case is pretty straightforward and that now he needs some documents I can provide that will prove our marriage is real and we're sharing a life. I have a full binder with me and I didn't know where to start. So our lawyer guided me and said you can start with the credit cards. Which I did.

These are all the files I pulled out from my binder (btw I followed the table of contents guide from some of the posts here):
1. Joint Credit Card statements - husband is primary, I'm authorized user. He only took one statement and gave back the rest.
2. Joint Bank Statements - took one statement where it shows the car deposit payment, gave back the rest.
3. Car Purchase Agreement - me and my husband signed
4. Car Loan Document - me as buyer, husband cobuyer
5. Car Registration - both names registered
6. Car Insurance for both our cars - with both names on it
7. Health Insurance - he read and clarified it shows that we're both covered
8. Life Insurance - clarified that my husband is 100% beneficiary
9. 2017 Tax Return - married filing jointly
10. 2018 Tax Return - married filing jointly

That's all he took from me. I had more documents but he gave it back. We brought USPS informed delivery, STEP profile with us as emergency contacts, gym membership, Netflix etc. I think he was mainly looking for shared responsibilties on assets and liabilities. He was highlighting our names on the documents making sure it's both of us on those paperworks.

After that he said, "okay looks good to me let's proceed to the easy part and I'll get some of your pics later". So we did the review of I-130 and I-485. After this he asked if I have some old and recent pictures then I brought out our 400+ photo album lol. He didn't look at the album, he just asked me to choose one old and one recent. I chose two and gave it to him and he took also the wedding album. He then went out to photocopy them.

He came back and told us that he thinks everything looks great and we shouldn't have a problem. He said he'll try to update the status by the end of the day and if not, by end of the week. We then just started talking about other things like the Netflix Accounts, how they have their own production now, his dad in the Army (my husband is serving in the Navy), etc etc.

We thanked him and left. We left the office around 11:30 AM.

At 2:45 PM I got an updated that my case is approved!

Thank you so much everyone! Keep praying and keep trusting in Him and he will help you. Please let me know if you have questions!! I'll be more than happy to help because you all have helped me.
