Greencard interview
I came here in US last sept 17 to visit my bf for vacation and at the midnight of sept 18 he proposed. 1 month later we decided to get married on dec 18 (sunday) but unfortunately there is no courthouse conducting civil wedding since it's weekend so we just moved the wedding earlier on nov 18 (friday) which also gonna hit our anniversary as bf/gf. We did some research on this part if a tourist can get married to a US citizen, and luckily we found the 30/60/90 days rule.

Here's our time frame:

Nov 18 2011 - got married
Jan 5 2012 - send application
Jan 13 - received NOR (i-130, i-485, i-765)
Jan 19 - received biometric notice i-765
Feb 7 - i-765 biometric appt
Feb 22 - Received biometric notice i-485
Mar 6 - i-485 biometric appt
Mar 9 - received ead card by mail
Mar 12 - applied for SSN
Mar 19 - applied for State ID
Mar 28 - received letter request for initial interview
May 1 - i-485 initial interview (decission for greencard was approved after the interview)

On our day of our interview, my husband and i are both scared and nervous. We even feel of going to bathroom even if we dont need to and some stomach upset (we even blamed the food for that). 10 seconds before my name was called our level of nervourness was lessen and we feel more confident when she started asking for our supporting documents, my husband and i went in to her office and we were under oath. The lady asked me the following question:

Where is your passport? (i gave her my passport and she took my i-94 and she said you travel a lot)

What is your full name?

What is your date of birth?

When was the last time you arrived US?

What is your work when u meet your husband?

How many days did you stay in Japan? (btw, i met my husband in japan, he was stationed there and I was there for vacation)

Where did you stay when u were in japan?

When did you meet his mom?

Do you have kids right now? (my husband and i both answered no)

Do you have your ead card?

Can i see your engagement ring? (i showed her my engagement ring and wedding ring)

Have you meet his brother?

Do you have any relatives in here?

What is the name of your cousin?

What's the name of your bestfriend?

Have you been married before?

*These are the questions he asked to my husband:

What is your full name?

What is your date of birth?

Where do you live right now?

Is your wife living with you?

Who are you supporting right now? (he said myself and my wife)

How did you meet?

What's the name of her bestfriend's husband?

What is your work when u meet your wife?

Where in Japan were you staying when u meet her?

How did you propose?

Did you both plan to get engaged and get married on nov? (my husband said it was my plan not hers)

Who are the guests in your wedding? (he said few friends from work and the family that was present that time was my wife's cousin only)

Where's your wedding ring? (my husband showed his ring)

Did you travel together? Where?

Did you visit her on her home country? When?

When did you meet her father?

Can i see your pictures together? (we showed her the scrapbook that I made)

Do you have health insurance together?

Do you have joint accounts? (we said we have checking, credit and money market and for the savings we have it individually)

*She didn't get any of our pictures but she asked for a copy of our health insurance and joint accounts and everything that we have (life insurance, tax, car insurance, phone bills under his name with our both numbers on it and lease of contract)

She said that your conditional greencard has been approved, and just wait for 3 weeks to received it by mail. She also told us that we might get another interview after my 2 years conditional greencard expires, the immigration just wanna make sure that we're still together by that time and not divorce.

My husband and I are both happy when the officer told us that the greencard has been approved! My advice is be confident, know your spouse very well and pray. If your marriage has entered in good faith then there's nothing to worry about. Gather lots of pictures and documents as a proof that your marriage is bonafide and not a sham.
