Adjustment of Status - I-485

This forum has been so helpful through the process for my husbdand and I. Please see our timeline below:

I am the citizen and I filed for my husband

Married - 12/17
Filed for AOS - 1/18
RFE received - 2/18
RFE responded - 2/18
Received notification that all documents were complete - 4/18
Biometrics - 5/18
System stated ready to schedule interview since - 6/18
System changed to interview scheduled - 12/18
Received interview notice in the mail one week later
Interview - 1/24/18
System changed to card being produced and mailed - 2/11/18
Awaiting card in the mail

We did not use a lawyer and we submitted all paperwork on our own. The interview was at Federal Plaza at 8:15am. We got there about 20 mins early. We were called in on time and the interview was less than 15 minutes. The officer asked my husband to stand up for a picture and he had to scan his fingerprint. She was very pleasant. She asked my husband his name, address, and where he works. She also asked him when was my birthday, address and where I work. We brought our son with us, so she also asked him my son’s birthday. The interview felt like a normal conversation. The office skimmed through our photos and took just 2 of them. She also asked us if there was any other evidence we’d like to submit to her. She asked my husband a few yes/no questions and that was it. Towards the end she mentioned that she wasn’t sure if cards were being produced since the government shutdown, but we should hear back soon. We were handed the paper that says we would receive a response within 120 days and she walked us out.

Things we noticed - she took my husband’s I94, she didn’t really question us much (guess she could tell our marriage is real).

It took about 2 weeks for the status to change, but it was worth it. Our process has finally come to an end!
