Adjustment of Status - I-485

So my sister and my brother in law went for their Stokes interview yesterday. The total interview took about 3 and a half hours. They interviewed them separately for approximately one hour each. Her attorney was present. Things got heated at times and the attorney told her not to answer certain questions. After the interview the ISO told her to expect something in the mail in 2 weeks. There was discrepancies between their answers to questions they were asked. But they were given a chance to explain. If they were to be denied, is it something they would have know right their and then? She did said d to be that regardless of what, you cannot you be prepared fully for such an interview. They them over 100 questions each.
