Green Card Interview!
Timeline filed in Los Angeles – adjust from F1 status to green card (married to USC)
Priority date: 03/23/2018
Bio: 4/27/2018
EAD & AP: 10/5/18
Ready to schedule interview notice: 9/20/2018
Interview notice: 1/10/19
Interview date: 2/19/19
Our interview was at 8:15 AM and we were stuck in the long security line for 20 minutes. There is actually a shorter security line for USCIS appointments right next to the right entrance. We were about 5-10 minutes late but the person checking us in did not say anything. He took our interview notice and informed us that we would be called by name. We waited for about 20 minutes and 2 officers called for us. They guided us to the room, swore us in, and started going through I-130 and I-485.
We gave them the updated tax returns, W-2s, paystubs, and some more pictures. I asked her if she wanted mails and cards that were sent to us and she said that if she doubts our relationship then she would at the end. She then asked about our story and that was it! She then told us that everything looked good but she needed to complete the background checks so we would hear back in a week. The whole interview was only 15 minutes! And she did not ask to see our mails :)
Half an hour after the interview, I got notified that “New card is being produced and will be mailed to you”! The whole process is about 11 months for us in Los Angeles.
