Marriage based AOS- Charleston Field Office
So this is how it feels to finally reach the finish line!

I had my interview today in Charleston,SC. Husband and I actually arrived an hour early so we stuffed our faces with Church’s chicken right next door. We entered the waiting area around 12:15 pm ( appt time is at 12:55 pm). There were three other couples waiting to be interviewed when we arrived. We weren’t called in until 2:15 pm ( good thing we had some chicken! Lol ) and we finished the interview by 2:30 pm!!

The IO was very relaxed and friendly. We were actually joking with him so that really helped me calm down a bit. When he called my name and we proceeded to walk towards him he asked who was with me so I said ‘my husband’. He said henonly needed me ( at this point I was panicking immensely inside...’shoot! We are going to be interviewed separately! Do they suspect fraud?!’ ). It turns out he thought my AOS was EB bec I sent a copy of a previous petition (approved) by the hospital I ised to work for. After I explained the situation the IO was ‘oh, i need your husband then’ so he called him in and apologized for his confusion.

This were the things he asked me:
Full name
Place of birth
DOB
Current address
Husband’s full name
Husband’s DOB
Visa I had when I came to the US
Almost all of the Yes/No question ( he made a joke about this bec he said he can probably ask those questions in his sleep)

Things he asked my husband:
His full name
Place of Birth
Does he know his in-laws’ name and what are they

Documents he wanted to see:
Our driver’s license
Copy of marriage certificate

After he asked the yes/no questions, he took my fingerprints and a photo and made me sign the i-485 form. He said we are unofficially approved. He wanted to approve us on the spot but the texas service center that processed my I-130 sent the approval to another field office and he has to have it in my file before he can officially approve it. He said that once he receives that, he will approve us andnI should wait for my GC for about 3 weeks to a month. I waited so long what is another month?!

I feel like a big weight has been lifted off my chest!
