NYC. Interview Done and Approved The Same Day.
Hello,

PD: July 17, 2017. NYC

Good afternoon. I wanted to share our interview experience done at NYC Federal Plaza. Our interview was 10 AM February 28.The whole interview took less than 10 minutes. The officer did his things first (Oath, pictures and finger prints) and then he asked for all documents: copy of all certificates of birth, passport, NY ID, lease, taxes, pay stubs, bank statement, credit card statements, W2, bills, itinerary for trips and he took 7 photos from our photo album. He mentioned he will skip the" how we meet "since by looking at the evidence and our photo album he knew we had a real marriage, and that we also have a 2 years old son. He did mentioned that having a baby is a beautiful experience.
He did ask all yes/no questions. At the end he asked my wife for her insurance card and we provided a copy (my wife is the beneficiary) and then he ask for mine and I told him I had insurance until November of last year but I will try to get some through my job, and then he asked my wife “ why don’t you add your husband to your insurance"? and she said because it’s too expensive” and it’s it’s almost $500 a month just to add me to her insurance.
He verify everyone's DOB and address. He gave us the white paper (120 days review time) and he said everything looks good I just need to verify and do more background check on my wife.
I asked him for a verbal approval and he said: it would take few days to find out the answer but he said we should get something on the mail.
The officer was very nice and straightforward.
That was it. Our interview was very fast and simple since we have provided a lot of evidence in our initial package and we have a son in common.
He ask if we redo the medical and right away we told him that ours was valid for 2 years and he said "that's right".
We left the building wondering what was going to happen since we didn't get an approval right away but he did mentioned that we did great and that our case looks good.
My wife was kind of sad and I told her that by reading in this forum that we might get a notification by the end of the day.
Around 6 PM both phones got a lot of text messages from USCIS telling us that "New Card is Being Produced"
My wife was so happy and I was happy for her because we have waited for 1 year and 7 month for this interview and we were ready to get interviewed but I knew dip in my hearth that the reason for our quick interview its was because we were approved since we got there and the officer knew that our marriage is real.
I want to thank God first because during this 600 days of waiting we have worried a lot, thinking that they forgot our case somewhere and no one notice. We do think something did happen to all the cases from 2017 at NYC. But I am glad the wait is over for my wife. We want to thank everyone in this forum for sharing their experience. Please keep praying to God and you turn will come soon.
We will share when we have the green card in our hands.
God bless you all.
