Fresno, CA i485 interview experience
Hello everyone, I want to let you guys know about my i485 interview marriage based.
Originally, my field office was suppose to be in San Francisco. But since I have moved central valley, the transferred my case to fresno.

And we have submitted my assets that I owned a house and a car, paystubs, w2s, tax returns

1/11/19: interview cancelled because of address changed
1/18/19: Interview scheduled in Fresno, CA for February 28, 2019
2/28/19: interview day
The interview day, our appointment was at 12:30pm. There were parking meters but we didn't want to risk getting a ticket because we don't know how long the interview will take. So, we found a parking garage close by and parked there instead. We walked to the building and it was not opened until 12pm. When it was opened, we had to go through security check. After that, we checked in at the lobby and the officer gave us a number like the numbers you get at the DMV. He told us to go up to 2nd floor using the elevator and head on up to be checked in again. We went up, and I had to do fingerprint and they took a picture of me. The guy checked me in and told me to wait for someone to call my number or my name. We waited 20 minutes and then a gentlemen called me and my wife in and lead us to his office.
During the interview, he made us swear the oath to tell the truth raising our right hands. Then he proceeded to ask us questions to see if it matches what he has on file. The yes and no questions. He looked intimidating. He did not greet us. He had a serious look and did not smiled.
Questions that were asked:
-how did you and your wife meet?
-how long have you guys known each other?
-do you guys have any wedding pictures?
-did you guys go on a honeymoon and where?
-do you have any kids?
-what is your wife's full name?
-what do you do for work?
-where do you work?
-your social security number?
-your date of birth?
-your wife's date of birth?
-what are you parents' names?
-when was your last entry to the U.S?
-which airport did you came back from thru advance parole?
-when did you two graduated from college?
-what is the name of the college you guys went to?
-who is your lawyer?
-your current address?
-is this your only marriage?
At the end, he check for our original passports, birth certificates, IDs, and marriage certificate to see if it matches to the one he has on filed the copies ones. He asked if there is any documents we want to submit with both of our names on it.
We submitted: joint bank statements, tax returns, my paystubs, w2s, car insurance, health insurance, mortgage loan, utility bill, and my assets in case if I am not here one day my wife takes over my assets(her name is in the paper). He took some of our original pictures from our photo albums.
After that, I submitted my medical records to him he forgot to asked us about it. But we gave it to him anyways to avoid any delays in the future.
Then, he said everything looks good and he gave us a white paper that out case in under review. He can not approve us on the spot because his supervisor is the one who approves the cases so he has to speak to him. He told us to wait for a response through the mail in 30 days. He escorted us out and that was it.
We both left disappointed because we were thinking about the what its and the officer was very strict.
3/1/19: received a message that uscis has updated my case. I went to check online for my recipe number and it says New card is being produced. I assumed this is an approval? And how long does it take to be mailed out. I was happy but at the same time, I will feel more relieved when the GC is in my hands. Now, I just have to wait for the arrival of the GC.
