Hey guys, just got the envelope containing my SSN in the mail (10 days after EAD).
Thanks to Chrissyb for providing me with a direct contact number to speak to someone who could give me some information on the status of my SSN. If you call the SSN Customer Service Number you will wait over a half hour only to be told that they can't provide you with any information.
This is the number for the Harrisburg PA SSA office (888-327-1176). Once your card is generated they will be able to tell you even if you are not a Pennsylvania resident (it's one system). If it's not printed at the time of call then wait a couple days and call back.
My card was printed on February 25th and I received it today March 1st even though they say to wait 14 days after printing to receive it in the mail.
I can now go job hunting. All the best for those still waiting.
