Hi

I am on an H 4 Visa and came to the US 4 months back.I have a Texas ID card and now have had to move to CT with my husband.

The problem is we were looking out for an apt and shortlisted one and when were finally going to move into it we were told my ssn would be required or else we wud have to pay a months fee as deposit(which may or maynot be paid back). now several indian families have moved in the same complex b4 us..the latest having moved 10 days back.

None of the wives had an ssn and this issue wasnt raised with any of them.

when my husband and I brought up this pt, we were told i could move in without paying the deposit but could not use any amenities in the apt complex...no access to gym fitness room pool etc.I could only do so if my husband accompanied me..

k..now we checked up with all othr indian families whoes wives are H-4 and no ssn. all the ladies have thr access cards et and face no such issue

so y in our case?this incident has been very disheartening.....we had to move out tomorrow...now we are stuck.

could anyone pl help?
