Hello,
My passport was stolen in a cafe last week and I am scheduled to travel to India on March 14th for my H1B stamping, with my visa appointment scheduled on March 18th.
I have applied for a takal service for re-issue of passport.
The status as of yesterday (March 6th) was "Under process at Embassy" . I would positively need the passport in hand by March 13th. That means I have five working days remaining that I can afford to spare.
In this time of anxiety, it would be of a lot of help to hear about takal application experiences and how long it took to receive the passport in hand after submitting the application.
I was informed at the time of submission that I would receive my passport within 3 to 5 business days. But I am apprehensive after reading the experiences below, that that stipulated time provided by CKGS may not be something to count on after all.
