Seattle Interview Experience
Hi all! I had my interview at the Seattle office yesterday.

Background - Husband I met in college, started dating in 2013, got married in 2017 and filed in October 2017. No overstay or any other complications.

It was at 1:45pm, we got there around 1:20. It was very busy and we had to stand first in the security line and then in the check-in line. Took about 10 minutes total. Then we went up to the waiting room. It was very busy as well. They called us in about 15 minutes past our interview time by calling out our number. First the IO took us to another IO's office for picture and fingerprints. Then he escorted us to his office. His demeanor was not too friendly and not too strict. He was professional but not mean and smiled and joked a couple of times during the interview. First he checked out passports and Driver Licenses (no other original documents were checked) and then he made us stand and say the oath to tell the truth. Then he went over our forms, confirming all the information and updating new information, first mine (asking all the I-485 yes and no questions) and then my USC husband. Then he asked us the following questions (he did not direct the questions to one of us so we just took turns answering or added on to each other's answers):

How did you two meet?
Did you have any classes together?
What do you like to do together?
What is the biggest argument you have ever had?
How have you combined your lives since getting married?
Do you have any individual joint accounts?

He then asked us to show us what documents we brought. I pulled out a giant folder and he was like "yeah I am not taking all that paper" lol. So I gave him my table of contents and asked him to tell us which documents he wants. He took our joint bank accounts and credit cards statements and our joint insurance papers and our most recent lease. I asked him if he wants to see my photo album and he was like sure just show me some recent pictures (he wasn't really interested, he was just being nice and did not ask any questions or take any pictures). I sent a good amount of pictures with the application. I asked him if he wanted my new medical form, he said even though mine is not expired, he will still take it. I left my table of contents with him and told him if wants any documents that are in there, I have them so when he is reviewing he can look at that and see how much evidence have.

He didn't ask any for any other documents. And then we were done, he told us that "We will review your application now, we will go over the paperwork, if we need something else we will send you a letter and if it is something we should talk about, we will schedule a second interview. But I don't see that happening in your case. You will get a decision and it will most like be an approval." Then he told us about conditional green card and how to apply for removal of conditions in 2 years. Then he escorted us out.

We didn't get any slips (approval or review). The interview was overall positive. My online status is now "under review". So I guess next round of waiting begins. I know it can take very long or it can be very quick.

Some Tips:
Be there at least 30-45 minutes early. It's better to wait outside than miss your call. If you have a lawyer, tell him/her specifically to be on time. I saw at least 3 lawyers being late when I was waiting. It doesn't look good and we need every single positive things on our side with this process.
Always sit close to the doors through which IOs come and call out numbers. When it is busy, it is hard to hear them.
Over prepare your evidence and organize it well (and neatly) and have a table of contents. They might not take it all but it looks really positive that you have that much evidence. It also makes you feel less anxious before the interview.
Be polite and mimic your IO's mood. If he is strict, be professional and don't try to joke around.

I would like more input from people in the Seattle area on how long it took for them to get a decision. I would love to answer any questions you might have. Thanks!
