NYC Filers - Need Your Advice/Feedback
Hi Everyone!
I have a few questions. My wife and I applied for her I-485 back in Sept 2017 and on March 4, 2019 our case status changed to Interview Scheduled (WOO HOO!!).
1) How long does it take (from your experience in NYC) to get the letter with the date in the mail?
2) We used to live in Brooklyn but moved to Manhattan last year and did the whole update the address deal, does that mean we'll interview in NYC and not Brooklyn?
3) Her EAD expired in Dec 2018 but we applied for a renewal back in Aug 2018 and she still has NOT received her renewed EAD. Does that mean we should have the interview before the 180 extension ends for the EAD?
4) My wife has a valid I-131 travel card as of December 2018 and good until December 2019. I may be going to the Bahamas in June (paid by my company!) and we're allowed to take a plus 1. Of course I want to take her. Has anyone traveled with a I-131? If so, what was your experience? We're pretty nervous about it even though she's never had any arrests and all her paperwork is in order and it's not to the country she's originally from (she's from Germany).
