NYC Federal Plaza Interview - 03/27/2019
Hi Guys - wanted to provide you an update regarding my interview

PD: Aug 10 2017
Interview: Mar 27 2019 at Federal Plaza.

My wife (USC) and I got there at 1PM for our 1:40PM appointment. We got called around 3:30PM and the interview lasted for about 45 mins. The immigration officer was very pleasant to talk to and professional and thorough with his questions. We were approved on the spot and got an alert through myUSCIS system 30 mins after the interview. Below are questions that the officer asked us

Me:
- Asked for me for my full name, place of birth, birth date
- Asked all the yes/no questions
- Asked me my wife’s full name (and asked wife to verify)
- Asked current address
- Asked for place of birth
- Asked how we met

My Wife:
- Asked for her full name
- Asked her birth date, place of birth
- Asked current address
- Asked why address on Driver’s License for me and wife were different
- Asked her what I did for work, my Boss’ name, my company’s name and what the company does
- Asked her where she worked and what the company does
- Asked her about our first real date

Additional Documents:
- Asked for drivers licenses and passport (For verification)
- Asked to give him anything that would prove bona fide nature of our wedding (bills, assets, photographs, taxes) since the wedding date - We gave him our apartment lease, cell phone bill, bank reference letter, beneficiary letter (401K), 2017/2018 joint tax filing, bill receipts of trips taken together (after the wedding), a few photographs from the album

Both:
- Asked us to verify our signatures in the filling

Interestingly, the officer never asked us anything related to the proposal, engagement or our wedding. He didn't look at the photo album either. At the date of the interview, we were still over a month away from our 2 year wedding anniversary and as a result were granted a 2 year conditional green card.

Good luck to everyone and I will post again once I receive the green card.
