I-485 Interview in May 2018, still no approval
Hi,
I am concerned by timeline of the green card process.
Interview date: May 25, 2018
Location: Orlando, FL
I have India passport, but I was born in Libya, as my father used to work there at that time.
Receipt date: August 18, 2017.
Type: Employer based
Interview went fine, officer said she was inclined to approve but needed some tax return statements from me, I sent those statements and theywere received by them in beginning of June 2018.
However there has been no further updates on my case. I saw it was transferred from Texas Service Center to National Benefits Center and then transferred back. They asked me to get fresh medicals in July 2018, as it had been 1 year since July 2017, so I did get them for my wife and myself.
Still there was no response. I enquired in Orlando field office in person, and the officer checked and found that status is approved for me and it seems to be fine and i should get it in 4-6 weeks, and to contact them again if I don't get it.
I expected to hear back by end of December 2018, to january 2019, and yet there hasn't been an update. Only in February 2019, there was a transfer back to National Benefits Center and then apparently back to Texas Service Center.
Now I cannot even go back to Orlando field office to enquire, as they changed the process and do not accept InfoPass scheduled appointnments. This is very frustrating as I don't know how much further it will take to get my green card and what the hold-up is.
I saw a thread which advised to create an account at https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ and I did that and checked this site, and the status shows no update since June 2018, and that last update says that they received my correspondence and will respond back.
Lawyers said that they cannot do anything until the date becomes current, and right now they are processing employment based applications as of March 31, 2017 as per the site, and mine was August 18, 2017
I saw this date had gone to June 2017, and now it has gone back to March 31, 2017.
Is anyone else in similar position? What could be holding up the process?
This is very frustrating and hoping to get any input or help.
