Here is my experience with Canada Visitor Visa process applied from USA

• March 19, 2019 - Submitted online visa application (myself, spouse and son)

• March 20, 2019 - Got notification letter to proceed for biometric

• March 20, 2019 - Booked biometric appointment at USCIS Application Support Center

• March 26, 2019 - Gave biometric(myself and spouse) at USCIS Application Support Center

• March 28, 2019 - Received confirmation for the biometric collection

• March 28, 2019 - Received passport request notification

• March 30 , 2019 - Sent passports via UPS with below items for each applicant in one package

  - Covering letter – Mentioned enclosed documents
 - Original Passport
 - Passport request letter received from IRCC.
 - VAC passport transmission fee $19.90 – Money order - 1 for each applicant
           - Two (2) signed VAC consent forms - 1 set for each applicant
 - Pre-paid return courier envelopes/shipping labels - 1 for each applicant
 - Contact Information - 1 for each applicant

• April 2 , 2019 - Got notification from VFS global – “dispatched to the IRCC Office”
• April 3 , 2019 - Got notification from VFS global –“ under process at the IRCC Office”
• April 3 , 2019 - Got notification from VFS global – “decision envelope has been dispatched from the IRCC Office, to the Canada Visa Application Centre in USA, New York”
• April 4 , 2019 - Got notification from VFS global –“An envelope of your decision that has been processed has been sent from the IRCC office”
• April 4 , 2019 - Got notification from VFS global – “Your processed decision envelope has been collected from the Canada Visa Application Centre in Canada Visa Application Centre”
• April 4 , 2019 - UPS return tracking – updated “shipped”
• April 8 ,2018 – UPS delivered the passports –(in 3 return envelopes )
