Arrived at my service center which is in atlanta 12:47pm and went to the reception desk to checkin but the customer service told me that my checkin is too early, that I would need to checkin towards 1:30pm since my appointment was by 2pm. So I checked in by 1:30pm and I was directed to the 3rd floor where my interview would be held.
At about 2:10pm my immigration officer called my ticket number and took me to his office, immediately we got to his office him and my spouse where having a conversation about the office been too cold.Then he made both of us took an oath and turn off our phone. After which he stated he will be conducting interview for my I-485 and my spouse I-130.
He asked me my spouse full name and all his previous name (Same sex marriage), he asked me his date of birth, where was he born and my full address and he asked if both of us stays in same address. Then he turn to my spouse and asked same question to him about me, he asked my spouse where was I going to school and what year did I arrive in United States. He also asked my spouse if I was married before, if I had any kids, my spouse stated no. He also asked my spouse if he knows our joint sponsor, my spouse stated no, and he asked if he as met met our joint sponsor, my spouse said no that our joint sponsor was met friend before we met each other.
After which he asked if I had any documents to add to my documents, then I stated I have a lot, then I handover our documents to him, then he stated he do not need all those documents since we already had a lot of documents when we submitted our paper work the first time. Then I start calling all the documents I brought with me, then he stated he needs the bank statements, auto insurance card and affidavit from family.
Then I asked him if he needs my health insurance, then he said no.
I asked him if needs my photo album, then said you guys have lot of documents you submitted during your application. Then he asked for my medicals, I gave him my medicals. Then said he will go through my documents, my medicals and check if my background is cleared then he will make a decision. My spouse asked him when are wee going to receive an update, he responded to him we should check online today by 7 or 8pm we will see an updates. He shake our hands and work us out.
An hr later I received an updates stating new card is in production.
Hints: Be prayerful and take lot of evidence because a lot is better than few, the immigration officer sees we have alot of evidence and photos.
If your relationship is genuine, and you have a lot evidence, you do not need to be scared.
My total process takes about 10 to 11 months. God is great
