I had to appear for interview as I travelled to India after 4 years, but my wife(also on h1b) was eligible for dropbox.
For myself
Sunday 3pm: Photograph at VFS, Shivaji Park Metro Station Delhi
Monday 9:30: Appeared for interview at consulate. Similar questions, which company, what's the salary and what you do. Visa approved. Status Admin processing
Tuesday 3pm: Visa issued
Wednesday: Picked up
For wife drop box
Monday: Submitted papers at VFS, Shivaji Park Metro Station Delhi
Tuesday: Status change to admin processing
Friday 3pm: Visa issued
Monday: ready for pickup
