Hi everyone,
I filed my I-485 on November 2017. Got interview notice in March 2018.
But the USCIS mistakenly assigned my interview to Virginia which was my lawyer's office.. (The USCIS considered the sender's (my lawyer) address as my address..) Then my lawyer made a change of address to USCIS on April 2018. It means my case was transferred back to NYC for the final interview.
Since then ... I never heard anything back from USCIS til now.....
Anyone filing I-485 in NYC? I'm wondering how long have you waited for the interview? ? ?
Btw, just to share with you my story. So when my wife filed later for the AOS with me, her interview was mistakenly assigned to Virginia again. But we decided to take the chance and come to Virginia office to see if they let us interview even if our address is in NYC. And the USCIS staff in Virginia office was so nice that she enabled my wife to take the interview. So my wife's interview was like completed. But since I am the principal but my case was already sent back to NYC, I couldn't finish the interview with my wife together in Virginia. Even though my wife finished hers, her case needed to be sent back to nyc and be reviewed with mine together.
