QUEBEC - H-1B extension with same company
Had my appointment on April 9th. They don't allow bags inside and will make you drop it at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, $11 charge for it at hotel.
1. At first counter the lady asked for I-797/Passport/Photo and she was really particular about Photo and was not happy with mine. She asked me to get another photo but somehow ended up accepting the one that I had.
2. Waited for less than 5 mins and was called by VO who was really polite. Asked following question:
----a. So you have worked for your employer for X years: Yes
----b. What do you do: Just mentioned my designation
----c. Where do you work: Mentioned City.
----d. VO said, your visa is approved, will get it after two days, do you know your rights: Yes.
I asked if its possible to get passport sooner and was told earliest is in 2 days. But I got the passport back next day.
Quebec might get colder so go prepared. People speak English but few only speak French. Better to stay in Old Quebec since that's a really beautiful part of city and you can walk to Consulate and Post office to pick passport.
