Hi Everyone,
just wanted to share my visa interview experience
Location: Ottawa
Background: 10th Year on H1B, have approved I140. Working for a client through my employer of 6 years.
Interview time was at 9:45 am, my hotel was 7 mins walk from the embassy (Hotel name Byward Blue Inn, just in case anyone planning to come to Ottawa for stamping), so got there by 9:30. At the gate, a basic security check was done. Once inside the building, they asked for DS160 and Passport and then security scan was done. Post which you go to another part of the building and stand in line for Document verification on one window and fingerprinting on another window. This took the maximum time for me. Close to an hour.
Once both of the above steps were completed, you wait in line to go to interview windows. There were two open today. My interview took close to 2-3 mins.
Questions asked were:
1. How long have you been on H1b?
2. Who do you work for?
3. What do they do?
4. What is your job title?
5. How much they pay you?
6. Do you have approved I140?
7. Countries visited in the last 5 years?
8. Highest level of education?
That was it. At the end of this VO said, 'you're all set'. I asked if I will be able to track the passport online and she confirmed.
