We got approved on the spot! Our appointment was at 10:15. The lady at the check in counter didn’t get to put our names in the queue when we came in so at 10:30am, my husband and I noticed that people who came in after us were already getting called so he went to check at the counter to ask about our appointment. She apologized and quickly put our names and got called in for our interview at 10:45.

Initially the IO asked us to swear, took my picture, asked us for the original birth certificates, passports, IDs and marriage certificate. Went ahead with the usual yes or no questions from the I-485. Confirmed our date of births and verified our signatures. He was nice and instead of asking us, he would lead us to questions just to confirm information such us... so you got married June 20th of last year, we both said yes. You met in school, we then again said yes. Asked us to show him pictures of our wedding, and if there are any additional evidences that we brought with us. We provided our updated lease, joint bank account, pay stub, insurance (heath, car, life insurance), confirmation of pregnancy (ultrasound copy) and copy of our latest tax returns(filed jointly). He told us that he has to step out for a minute to get something, went back with a paper and told us that he is approving us since we already submitted strong enough evidence to prove our that marriage is real and there’s no need for him to waste our time and grill us with tons of questions. Lastly, he explained the process for removal of conditions and that I should expect my card by next week.

He didn’t really ask us any questions with regards to our wedding nor relationship. He asked us if we have any further questions, and since my husband is in the US navy, my husband asked about PCS and how do we go with the process of that in case it happens before the 2 years for the removal of conditions for my green card. He briefly explained it to us and walked us out and congratulated both of us. My husband and I were there for 15mins.

This group has helped us so much! My husband and I went to the interview more than prepared in case our IO asks us a lot of questions and were confident enough that we will get an approval on the spot and we did!

Tips: organize your packets, bring copies of everything on case the IO asks for them, be confident and as long as you entered your marriage with the right intentions, there’s nothing that you should be afraid of.
