Adjustment of Status - I-485

I am sure you are all as obsessed with checking your online status as I am.
After months and months of obsessing, I am trying to figure out a way I can "get things done" and not just sit home and reload the webpage for news.

I signed up for the My.uscis.gov page and I now get a text every Thursday around 10am-noon with "we are still reviewing your case and will notify you when there are changes"

- my question is, how accurate is this website? Will they actually txt you as soon as there is an update on your page ( in which case is no point logging in to check status like the obsessed crazy person I have become) or would you still recommend to log in as the txt service is slow?
