EAD - August filer - NBC - Expedite case
Hi everyone,

I just want to share my experience with you, because I think we are in same daily stress so if we can help each other!

NBC – August filer
Receipt date for I131 : 08/15
Receipt date for I765 : 08/15
Receipt date for I485 : 09/14

After more than 250 days of waiting time, 4 inquiries, I still hadn’t updates ..
I decided a week ago due to my father's condition who is sick to ask for an emergency travel to my USCIS field office.

04/22 - I called USCIC to have an appointment in my closest field office.
04/24 - I went to my appointment, the officer was really nice and understandable given the delay of my requests.
To prove the condition of my father I had to give him:
- A letter of the doctor which explains the urgency
- A birth certificate to prove that I am related to him
- My form I131 (I gave him also my I765 and I485)
- 2 passport photos
All proofs need to be translated in English, they do not accept document in your language, you have to translate them before the interview. (I didn’t know about my birth certificate so he asked me to come back the same day with the translation).

He proposed us 2 things:
- option 1 : Take the emergency travel which is valid only for one trip and only for a travel for one month from the date of the appointment. He said that if we take this emergency travel document it’s like to apply for a new one I131, so if you leave with the emergency travel when your first I131 is still pending, it could cancel your first request.
- option 2 : to expedite our case: it takes about 2 weeks to receive your combo card.

With my husband we decided to expedite our case because I need to come back in my country often due to my father condition. After this appointment, every status have changed :

04/26 : I765 : New card is being produced
04/29 : I485 : Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview
04/30 : I131 : Advance Parole document was Produced
04/30 : I received the approval letter of my I765 and I131

If you have an USCIS account like me where your can check your cases, know that changes on the internet are not made day by day, it often takes a few days before the status is updated.
05/01 : still waiting to receive my EAD card, I think it's just a matter of a few days now but I will keep you posted. Maybe some people can tell me how long the waited to receive their EAD card after is being produced?

I read a lot of experience before to go to my appointment. I am not a lawyer or someone capable to give legal information, I just want to share my experience. So be careful because your case can be different than mine.
I think every case is different and every officer too. From my experience, he was really nice and very understanding, I am really glad he helped us like this because without him I will be probably still be waiting since August.
All I can say it’s you need to be very patient.
