Hi guys,
I am going to share my journey today. After spending months reading everyone's stories of frustration, sadness and joy - which kept me from losing my mind - today I have my good news: NEW CARD IS BEING PRODUCED. Words cannot describe the disbelief I have right now! I'd been going to a therapist to learn anxiety coping skills in case everything went wrong.
I think it's a mix of luck but also shameless resilience and master-minding. It took exactly 180 days but would've taken longer, I'm sure.

November 14, 2018: RD for I-765
January 13, 2019: RFE for I-485 asking for more proof of finances
January 23, 2019: Response to RFE received
January 28, 2019: Matched to my top residency program at a hospital (I'm a medical student)
April 26, 2019: Courtesy letter for I-693 medical, reminding to bring to interview
May 1, 2019: Called to place expedite request under "Non-profit organization whose request is in furtherance of cultural and social interests of the US".
May 3, 2019: E-mail from USCIS asking to fax proof of employment offer
Online status changes:
"On May 3, 2019, we sent a response to your request to have your case expedited, referral number xxxx."
"On May 3, 2019, your request to have your case expedited, referral number xxxx, was assigned to an officer for response."
"On May 3, 2019, your request to have your case expedited, referral number xxxx, was completed."
Apparently this doesn't mean anything, only that someone saw the expedite and sent the e-mail.
May 5, 2019: Used a phone app to fax employment offer, information pamphlet with hospital's history, mission and services provided, my professional license.
May 10, 2019: Went to FedEx to fax documents again, this time with a sad/desperate cover letter
May 13, 2019: Called congressman's office and asked for assistance. I signed release form and sent them the same documents.
Later that day I got the same updates as above on USCIS website except for 5/13
May 14, 2019: Woke up to New Card is Being Produced
I wish everyone the very best. Don't give up! But also remember that whatever happens is not the end of the world. Everything will work out.
