Filing I-131 form separately
Hi everyone, I need some advice.
So I used a lawyer to file my application concurrently (I-485, I-130, I-765 and I-864), my PD is March 11, 2019.
My lawyer didn’t file I-131 for Advance Parole for me because she said she doesn't recommend traveling abroad while having a pending green card application.
I really want to travel back to my home country because I haven’t seen my family in 6 years (came here in 2013 using F1 visa and currently on OPT STEM).
My I-485 status changed to “ready to be scheduled for interview” on April 17, 2019 but my I-765 is still under “case was received” status.
My F1 Visa has expired in 2017 and only my OPT STEM that’s valid until this year July.
Would you guys recommend me filing I-131 now? Has anyone submitted I-131 after submitting the application? Do I have to pay extra?
Any advice would be appreciated because if I’ll have to file this by myself (my lawyer refused to submit this on my behalf because she doesn’t recommend it). Thanks!
