HOUSTON TX EMPLOYMENT BASED
Ok so 2nd post today. I was driving home then my phone went DING DING and i got a text and email that there was a status change to my case. So i went in the USCIS website and it said my case is approved HOORAY FINALLY~~~

So let me share my timeline.

8/24/2018: Application received
9/21/2018: Fingerprint
10/31/2019: EAD start date (my company paid to expedite the EAD i think i received the card a few days before the start date
5/2/2019: We scheduled ur interview.
6/7/2019: Interview at 7

So i went to the uscis center at 615. Got in the gate and security at 7. I believe i was the 4th name called and the first employment based coz everyone before went in at least 2 people.

My officer is a very nice African American lady named Ms. Hamilton. She took me to her office.
She then asked me to raise my right hand, take fingerprint etc. Then she confirmed my address. She entered some stuffs in the computer, then she asked for my current employment letter, and my paystuffs. And then my birth certificate (i showed her the original and she took the copy with red mark notary on it. Now i am still a full time student because i went back to school before my employer decided to file for me and I am at my 3rd semester so i can only work part time and the paychecks do not look good because only part time position not 40hrs. So i was itchy to explain that to her because I was afraid that she would get suspicious. That is the only part i am worried about because my case is super clean and i have every document submitted if not more. But i remember my lawyer reminded me before the interview date that I should not say anything more than what they ask no matter what because my case is very clean and simple. So i did not say a thing.
Then she did not ask anything and went back to the computer for another 20 mins, during the process she kept saying "Why didnt it get pull up" a few time. By now all of my organs were sweating eventhough outside i was being very smiley and calm. I thought there was something with my case computer file. So at the end she said "I wanted to approve you right away and give u a better result that this but the system is down, so I can only give u this (the white paper). I will walk you out and ask my supervisor. I am sorry because I went through your file and thought I could just approve you on spot. But i can't pull up the visa that is available eventhough i am sure I26 is. I am pretty sure but I can't guarantee you right away. If it is, i will try to approve you as soon as I can, if not you case will be sent back to the center and you would have to wait" So i said it is fine I understand how the paperwork process can be somehow frustrating for everyone. I joked that I hope it would not be 6 months then she said "no it wont be that long but I cant promise you how soon it will be"

I was walked out at 7:41 and was freaking out a bit wondering if that ever happened to anyone. So I went here and you helped me to calm down a bit.
I was driving home from work and at 6:15, the case status changed to approved. I can't be happier.

Hopefully the GC will come soon. Good luck to everyone!!!!
