B1/B2 renewal query--atypical case, need advise
Hi everyone!
I need to renew my b1/b2 visa for first time.
Earlier,I was in my final year med school in India. I was given visa with 3 months validity. I visited US (Officer at port of entry allowed stay for 6 months) and returned after 4 weeks {While filling ds-160 form back then i mentioned probable stay of 7 days}.
Now, i have graduated. I applied for renewal citing similar reason but this time stay of 8weeks. Also joined a job just couple of days prior to filling DS 160 for renewal. I met all the criteria for Interview waiver. I submitted passport at dropbox. However, i have been asked to visit Embassy for interview any working day within a year from now.
Now, it's confusing. I don't want my visa to get denied for any reason. Should i go for interview immediately OR wait 5-6 months (as by then, i'd have a regular job of that duration--probably a favorable factor ) and push my visit for later time. Also, if i push my visit, there would be discrepancy of details submitted in DS 160 and what i'd be telling Consular officer after 5-6 months from now, Is there any option which allows us to update DS160 data in this scenario??
Thanks for reading this long query.
Really appreciate your help!
